Goldenrod Barbershop
Kegan opened the shop in the storied Deer Park neighborhood in the Highlands, Louisville, KY, a walkable neighborhood long known for its eclectic dining and pub locations.
Goldenrod was founded with the intent to provide an ultra-local barber experience with quality and affordability. The owner and staff participate in community events and promote local social groups.
Our approach centered on capturing the quirky and charming personalities of the people who make the shop happen, and the matching interior. This is then blended with the warm vibes of goldenrod fields to capture the cozy inviting experience of the shop.

The shop radiated warmth and ease the moment I walked in.
First impressions consisted of calm atmosphere broken up by occasional conversation and laughter. Dusty sunlight reflected off of two large mirrors highlighting an interesting mix of wall decor and product.
To capture this we went with warm, inviting tones and soft-to-medium halation for light and color. Jovial portraits of the staff and some client shots rounded out the scene demonstrating a healthy mix of confidence, skill, and personality.
We are proud to work with Goldenrod in service of crucial local businesses and the broader community. We look forward to future collaborations with Goldenrod and other businesses serving Deer Park.
